1. What is the purpose of the Gala?

The 35th Anniversary Gala celebrates FCJ Refugee Centre’s journey of walking alongside uprooted people for 35 years. Funds raised directly support refugee protection, transitional housing, health services, food security, youth programming, and anti-human trafficking work.

2. How many people sit at a table?

Each table seats 8 guests.

3. What is the difference between a Hosted Table and a Community Champion Table?

  • Hosted Table ($2,500)
    You invite your own guests (friends, family, colleagues) to attend the Gala.
  • Community Champion ($5,000)
    You sponsor a full table for community members to attend. This level includes 2 tickets for you and a guest.

4. Can I dedicate my table in honour of someone?

Yes. You may dedicate your table in honour or memory of someone. The table signage can reflect this if requested.

5. Can I sponsor participants without attending?

Yes. You can:

  • Sponsor a full Community Champion table
  • Sponsor a participant for $500

Attendance is not required to sponsor

6. Will I receive a tax receipt?

FCJ Refugee Centre is a registered Canadian charity.

Tax receipts will be issued for the eligible portion of your contribution in accordance with CRA regulations. The value of meals and event benefits will be deducted from the receptable amount.

7. Can a company sponsor the Gala?

Yes. Organizations may sponsor at any level. Corporate sponsors may receive logo recognition; individuals and families receive name recognition.

8. Can I purchase individual tickets?

The Gala is structured around full tables (8 seats). If you are interested in attending but cannot host a full table, please contact us to explore available options.

9. Can I choose to dedicate some of my seats to refugee community members?

Yes. Sponsors may choose to allocate some or all of their seats to refugee clients and community members.

10. How do I confirm my sponsorship or table?

You can confirm your sponsorship through our online pledge page or by contacting our Resource Development team directly:

Once your sponsorship is confirmed:

  • You will receive a confirmation email
  • We will collect guest names closer to the event date
  • Recognition details will be confirmed with you
  • Tax receipting will follow CRA guidelines

12. Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre is accessible. Please let us know in advance if you or your guests have specific accessibility or dietary needs.
