Book Launch: ‘Urban Migrant Inclusion and Refugee Protection’

Join us for an afternoon discussion about the international efforts of urban migrant inclusion and refugee protection, at the launching of the two-volume book Urban Migrant Inclusion and Refugee Protection (Volume 1: Frontiers of Sanctuary, Solidarity, and Hospitality; Volume 2: Global Perspectives of Sanctuary, Solidarity, and Hospitality).
The event will feature opening remarks from the Mayor of Toronto, Olivia Chow, and Dr. Harald Bauer, one of the editors of the book, followed by a short panel discussion on the relevance of international academic work on urban migrant inclusion and refugee protection for practitioners and municipal policymakers in Toronto.
The panelists will be Diana Gallego, Co-Executive Director of the FCJ Refugee Centre; Alison Stanley, Manager, Toronto Newcomer Office; and Nomkhosi Mbatha, PhD candidate, University of Western Cape.
A reception will follow the discussion.
