Volunteer Position: Workshop Programming for Migrant Women

FCJ Refugee Centre is looking for dedicated volunteers to help organize and facilitate workshops for the Migrant Women’s Counter Human Trafficking Alliance. This project focuses on supporting migrant women and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced violence and trafficking, helping them navigate the unique challenges they face.

About the Migrant Women’s Alliance

The Migrant Women’s Counter Human Trafficking Alliance enhances capacity and knowledge to address the barriers faced by women in international cases of human trafficking and gender-based violence. Through a peer-led model, we provide participants with holistic information, access to wraparound services, and a safe space for healing and growth.

  • Our workshops include sessions on:
  • Arts and crafts, art therapy
  • Self-care and mental wellbeing
  • Yoga and dance, movement classes
  • Know Your Rights

These sessions foster community building, create social connections, and promote resilience among participants. Volunteers play a critical role in making these workshops a success by helping facilitate activities and providing on-the-ground support to ensure a welcoming and safe environment.

How You Can Help

We are looking for volunteers who:

  • Have a passion for supporting migrant women and gender-diverse people
  • Are empathetic, patient, and open-minded
  • Are comfortable assisting with the facilitation of workshops, from setup to group engagement
  • Have experience or interest in trauma-informed care or peer support
