Facilitated by community artist Carolina Gajardo, this special session invites migrant women to come together in a safe and supportive space to explore art as a tool for healing, empowerment, creativity, and self-expression.

Through the simple and beautiful act of painting rocks, we will create meaningful pieces while making space for connection, reflection, and community. Art can transform ordinary objects into something unique — and remind us of our own resilience and strength.

No artistic experience is needed — just come as you are and allow yourself a moment to create.

📍 Where: FCJ Refugee Centre (208 Oakwood Avenue, Toronto, M6E 2V4)
🗣️ Language: English with simultaneous Spanish interpretation
🎨 Materials: All painting materials will be provided
🪨 We would greatly appreciate it if participants could bring a few clean, washed rocks to paint (optional).
✨ Experience: No previous art experience needed — just come as you are!

Taller de pintura de piedras: crea, conecta y sana

Dirigida por la artista comunitaria Carolina Gajardo, esta sesión especial invita a mujeres migrantes a reunirse en un espacio seguro y de apoyo para explorar el arte como herramienta de sanación, empoderamiento, creatividad y autoexpresión.

A través del sencillo y hermoso acto de pintar piedras, crearemos piezas significativas, fomentando la conexión, la reflexión y la comunidad. El arte puede transformar objetos cotidianos en algo único y recordarnos nuestra propia resiliencia y fortaleza.

No se requiere experiencia artística; simplemente ven tal como eres y regálate un momento para crear.
