Job Description – Resource Development Coordinator: For this role, the Resource Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day fundraising and special event activities, enhance the funding portfolio, foster relationships with new and existing donors, connect with stakeholders, and ensure financial stability & sustainability. Supervised by the Senior Director and Executive Director, the Resource Development Coordinator also works closely with the Finance & Operations Manager as well as each member of the management team. As with all roles within the office, there are overarching responsibilities that apply including attendance to all staff and program specific meetings, following the policies of anti-oppression, confidentiality, the maintenance of accurate client records & files, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the organization’s fundraising database, including the efficient and timely processing of data relating to donations, and grants.
- Recruitment and management of monthly donors.
- Organizing and coordination of fundraising and organization/community events.
- Development and promotion of fundraising campaigns.
- Collaborate with the bookkeeper to appropriately follow up with grants and donations.
- Assist with all aspects of fundraising including telephone calls, donor relations, correspondence, and fundraising proposals and applications.
- Organize and oversee fundraising mailings.
- Organize, update, and build contact lists.
- Research potential new funders utilizing various online data base of foundations and corporations.
- Maintain a high level of customer service to all donors, volunteers, and supporters.
- Research community needs and work with staff, students and volunteers to develop responses.
- Required to access resources to initiate new programs and develop community response mechanisms.
- Responsible for correspondence thanking donors for their contributions.
Qualifications:
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
- Excellent program and project management skills.
- Results oriented, highly motivated, and able to work effectively independently or within a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and background in working with individuals from diverse communities
- Strong foundation in settlement and refugee-serving sectors
- Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated experience working with a wide variety of agencies in a community-based setting and within an anti-oppression framework.
- Effective cross-cultural communication skills.
- Computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office, the Internet, and email.
- Must be able to adapt a flexible work arrangement which may include a combination of virtual remote work from home and work in office arrangements. This will be based on organization and program needs as determined by supervisor.
